Papers of Mary Hallock Foote, 1885-1894.

Collection includes two unidentified one-page manuscripts, one dated around September 15, 1894, and three letters. In an undated letter to Florence E. Bates, Foote says she is not distressed because her story was returned and mentions a piece in the "Atlantic monthly." In a letter to Jenny Caldwell Nixon dated October 16, 1885, Foote promises to send an autographed copy of her book, "The led-horse claim." In a letter merely dated Monday the 17th to Mrs. Hale, Foote regrets she cannot accept an invitation.
